The US is bombing Iran again. But wait, isn’t there a ceasefire? Well, yes, but CENTCOM spokesman Capt. Tim Hawkins these are “self-defense strikes in southern Iran to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces”.

We’re only bombing Iran in self-defense!

What are we defending our troops from? The Iranians are repairing their missile launch sites! They’re emplacing mines in the Strait of Hormuz!

To all of you out there, all I want is to bring you home, just as I wanted to bring my brothers home from Vietnam. Haven’t they even told you what to do and what to expect during ceasefires?

Back to basics: the closer we can get to the way things were before the Israeli-US assault on Iran the better. If we could get back to the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), that would be the best (in an imperfect world). We can’t, not while Trump is in power, unless his handlers can make him think that he’s done something really better.

No one has the slightest idea about what Trump “thinks”. Forget all that, I’m not a fan of behaviorism, but here it’s found its one human subject. Someone needs to wield the cattle prods and the Big Macs just right. I think that emphasizing all the lettuce he can get out of Iran is a good start. Maybe his clueless boys can help, make them envoys to Iran. You figure it out, that’s not my department.

My only aim is stop the bombing. And the real issue here is that Netanyahu wants to continue the bombing for its own sake, for what it does, what it creates … rubble. No one in the Trump regime has any comprehension of that.

A settlement must be made in which the Strait of Hormuz is opened. Trump’s handlers

can trumpet this to the US as his triumphant achievement! Ok, the rest of the world and

most of the US know it’s rubbish, but his handlers can handle that.

If this can turn this Israeli government away from murderous assaults on its own illegally occupied territories, Gaza and the West Bank, and on Lebanon and Iran, it is a real step forward (not holding my breath). We still have a daunting way to go before Trump hands in the keys (voluntarily or not). Netanyahu is counting the days as intently as we are.
