Dear Friends,          … the Epstein scandal is so impooo … zzzzzzz … snore …

… yes, the “Epstein scandal” is boring, and scandalous because it seems designed to evade what is important. The only people who matter here are the girls and young women trafficked and abused by Epstein and his subordinates, Ghislaine Maxwell among them.

The only reason to have any interest at all in the “Epstein Files” is the possibility that they contain evidence of criminal activities by others. Unfortunately, there is a genuine legal problem. Epstein committed suicide before being tried, so the case was never litigated. The case against Epstein, as always, ended with his death. All evidence for or against Epstein can never move beyond the status of allegation.

I don’t know where that leaves the status of evidence against Epstein as admissible in the prosecution of others. I’m consulting lawyer friends.

The whole MAGA uproar is important. Why is this, of all things, their breaking point?

Not because they actually care about pedophilia and sexual abuse. We know that.

The “scandal” certainly is quite a smackdown for Trump, and, yes, Democrats must use it in every way they can. But …

… remember, the only people who truly matter here are the abused girls and young women.
